MOROMBI NATURAL RESERVE

MOROMBI NATURAL RESERVE

The Morombi Natural Reserve extends across 22,000 hectares of forests, wetlands and open wooded fields, forming a vital ecosystem of the Upper Paraná Atlantic Forest (BAAPA) in Paraguay. This biodiversity refuge is home to an incalculable wealth of species, many of them unique in the world and in danger of extinction, among which the emblematic jaguar (Panthera onca) stands out.

Since 1980, the Riquelme Group has assumed the responsibility of managing and preserving the Morombi Reserve, integrating this work into its strategy of social responsibility and sustainable use of natural resources. In 2001, this commitment was further consolidated with the official declaration of the Natural Reserve by Executive Decree No. 14,910.

The Morombi Nature Reserve is guided by a clear mission: to conserve and sustainably manage the ecosystems and biological diversity of the reserve, as well as its environmental services. Through scientific research and visitor awareness, it seeks to promote business, environmental and social responsibility.
